ASCO 2016 | The challenges Prof. Bruce Johnson will face as President-elect of ASCO

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has recently elected Bruce Johnson, MD of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA as President. At the 2016 ASCO Annual Meeting, Prof. Johnson discusses how it will be a challenge to balance the needs of national and international members. On one hand, ASCO has to be accountable to its members in terms of implementation of treatments, reimbursement, and ensuring Federal and Estate policies are followed. On the other hand, it’s important to make sure international members feel integrated and that they have a voice within the Society.
