Adam Dicker, MD, PhD, of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Philadelphia, gives us an introduction to the growing field of mHealth (mobile health). Digital health is an area in healthcare that includes apps and wearables and that allow patients and healthcare professionals to keep track of and record patient outcomes, toxicities and disease symptoms. It also includes telehealth which allows healthcare professionals to leverage technology to interact remotely with patients.
Prof. Dicker explains that during his talk on telehealth at ASCO 2017, he discussed how telemedicine is having a direct impact on patients, how it is being used and spoke about some of its complexities.
Recorded at the American Society of Oncology (ASCO) 2017 Annual Meeting held in Chicago, IL.
