As novel anticancer drugs undergo clinical trials and enter the market, patients with cancer are experiencing better outcomes and living longer. However, as outlined in this interview with Verna Lavender, PhD, of Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK, patients may develop more complex conditions and comorbidities as they get older, meaning that new drugs may not be suitable until more information is known.
