ECCO 2017 | How was ECCO 2017 different?

Martine Piccart, MD, PhD, from the Free University of Brussels, Brussels, Belgium, discusses the changes to the conference this year at the European Cancer Congress of the European Cancer Organisation (ECCO) 2017 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This year was the first year where ECCO did not organise the meeting jointly with ESMO. ECCO continues to be important, as it brings together everyone involved in cancer, physicians across multiple disciplines, patient organisations, and representatives of the EMA. The meeting this year will be smaller, however it has a strong educational purpose, and has been organised in a way that encourages discussion. These factors, Dr Piccart states, will make it a very interesting meeting.
