WCLC 2016 | How doctors can address the issue of smoking and changes in policy needed in European countries

Martina Pötschke-Langer, MD of German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg, Germany talks about how doctors can address the issue of smoking. Doctors need to work together and focus on changing legislation. A possible approach which may be taken in Germany, is to ban advertising for tobacco products. Dr Pötschke-Langer thinks tobacco taxes are too low in most countries. Doctors must be aware of these issues in order to start initiatives. Recorded at the 2016 World Conference of Lung Cancer (WCLC) of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) in Vienna, Austria.
