BTOG 2020 | Mesothelioma: MARS2 & MesoTRAP

Robert Rintoul, BSc, MBChB, FRCP, PhD, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge, UK, discusses the MARS2 study (NCT02040272) which compares surgery (pleurectomy decortication) with no surgery with respect to overall survival, cost-effectiveness and quality of life. Dr Rintoul goes on to outline the MesoTRAP (NCT03412357) study comparing video-assisted thoracoscopic partial pleurectomy/decortication with indwelling pleural catheter in patients with trapped lung due to malignant pleural mesothelioma.
