BTOG 2022 | The benefits of prehabilitation in patient wellbeing

Samreen Ahmed, FRCP, MD, University Hospitals of Leicester, Leicester, UK, comments on how prehabilitation can improve patient outcomes, especially in lung cancer. Whilst there has been difficulties in recruiting patients with lung cancer for related studies due to co-morbidities, recent findings have shown prehabilitation to reduce recovery times, benefiting patients and hospitals. Prof. Ahmed additionally describes future efforts to investigate prehabilitation in patients with advanced lung cancer, as well as virtual prehabilitation sessions. This interview took place at the 20th Annual British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Conference 2022.
