ISLB 2022 | Current challenges for lung cancer patients due to COVID-19

Amy Moore, PhD, Lungevity Foundation, USA, discusses the challenges that patients with lung cancer are facing, nearly three years since the start of the pandemic. Dr Moore talks on research into the immune response to the COVID-19 vaccine in patients with lung cancer, which reported that these patients can still experience severe breakthrough infections. Therefore, people with lung cancer still need to take precautions, such as taking any vaccine boosters on offer and wearing masks in crowded spaces, which can also protect against other respiratory viruses such as the flu. This interview took place at the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB) 2022 congress in Miami, FL.
