BTOG 2023 | Are rates of mesothelioma declining within the UK?

Kevin Blyth, MBChB, MD, FRCP, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, discusses whether mesothelioma cases in the UK are declining in response to restrictions on asbestos imports brought into effect at the turn of the century. Although mesothelioma cases are predicted to drop, this decline is postulated to be gradual considering that asbestos is still present in public buildings, and a definite plan to safely remote it has yet to be decided. This interview took place at the British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Annual Conference 2023 in Belfast, UK.
