ESMO WCGIC 2023 | Modalities for testing metastatic colorectal cancer targets

John Strickler, MD, Duke University, Durham, NC, details how the standard practice for gastrointestinal (GI) cancer diagnosis in the USA involves next generation sequencing (NGS). This involves testing targets concurrently, including MSI, BRAF, KRAS, NRAS and HER-2. Other testing methods may involve immunohistochemistry (IHC) or circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for select targets. This interview took place at the ESMO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer (WCGIC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.
