Neha Vapiwala, MD, FACR, FASTRO, FASCO, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, discusses the ECOG-ACRIN 8191 INDICATE trial (NCT04423211). This Phase III trial evaluates the use of apalutamide with standard radiotherapy in patients with biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy. For those with extrapelvic metastases detected by prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), the study tests metastasis-directed radiotherapy. The trial aims to improve progression-free survival and assess PET scans as an imaging biomarker. This interview took place at the 2024 Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC) in Lugano, Switzerland.
