David Lee, MBBS, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, examines the role of perioperative therapy and surgery in patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without driver mutations. Clinicians need to define who is resectable and a consensus from a multidisciplinary team is essential. Dr Lee additionally highlights trials such as the CheckMate 816 (NCT02998528) and CheckMate 77T (NCT04025879) trials, which have assessed perioperative strategies.
