ESMO 2024 | Exploring liquid biopsies for BRCA1 and RAD51C methylation in low-stage ovarian cancer

Alexandre Harlé, PharmD, PhD, Université de Lorraine, Nancy, France, discusses the potential of liquid biopsy in early-stage cancers, particularly for identifying homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) through BRCA1 and RAD51C promoter methylation. While higher stages require more concentration, the goal is to improve accuracy in determining HRD or HR proficiency (HRP) in low-stage patients through non-invasive methods, requiring further investigation. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
