Ignace H.J.T. de Hingh, MD, PhD, Catharina Cancer Institute, Eindhoven, Netherlands, emphasizes the importance of treating patients with neoadjuvant therapy before cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Administering chemotherapy in the neoadjuvant setting helps prepare patients for surgery, which can be challenging post-CRS and HIPEC. Combining neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapies could be ideal, with a focus on neoadjuvant treatment to optimize patient outcomes. This interview took place at the ESSO 43 congress in Antwerp, Belgium.
