GU Cancers 2025 | Genomic profiling of CAUBC in younger versus older patients

Alina Basnet, MD, MBBS, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, discusses the genomic profiling of clinically advanced urothelial bladder cancer (CAUBC), comparing patients under 50 with those 50 and older. The study found distinct patterns in genomic alterations and biomarkers between the two age groups. Older patients showed higher tumor mutation burden and more frequent alterations in certain genes genes like KMD6A and TERT, whereas younger patients had a higher more alterations in HRAS and CCND1. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
