GU Cancers 2025 | Advances in the diagnostic imaging of oligometastatic prostate cancer

Sophia Kamran, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, comments on novel developments in diagnostic imaging of oligometastatic prostate cancer. The field has rapidly progressed from conventional imaging to PSMA PET and potentially more sensitive tracers, enabling earlier detection of micrometastases and oligometastatic disease. Dr Kamran also highlights the potential for more patients to be diagnosed with oligometastatic disease than previously thought, and emphasizes the need to develop strategies for managing these patients appropriately. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
