GU Cancers 2025 | Metastasis-directed radiotherapy in oligometastatic urothelial cancer

Comron Hassanzadeh, MD, MPH, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, explores a single-institution retrospective study on the use of radiotherapy (RT)-based metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) in patients with oligometastatic bladder and upper tract cancer. Findings suggest that patients with a limited number of metastases may experience prolonged progression-free and overall survival. The findings ultimately highlight the potential role of MDT as an adjunct to systemic therapy. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
