Sung-Bae Kim, MD, PhD, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, discusses outcomes from the East Asian subgroup of the Phase III EMBER-3 trial (NCT04975308), which evaluated imlunestrant alone or with abemaciclib in ER+/HER2- advanced breast cancer. Progression-free survival was improved with imlunestrant over standard therapy in patients with ESR1 mutations. Combination therapy with abemaciclib further enhanced efficacy across all patients, regardless of ESR1 status. Safety findings were consistent with the broader study population, supporting the tolerability and potential of this regimen in East Asian patients. This interview took place at the 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Munich, Germany.
