VJOncoAlert Journal Club | NEOPAN: chemotherapy with FOLFIRINOX or gemcitabine in locally advanced pancreatic cancer

In this latest episode of the VJOncoAlert Journal Club, Michel Ducreux, MD, PhD, Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France, discusses updates from the NEOPAN trial. The study evaluated FOLFIRINOX versus gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel in 171 patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. FOLFIRINOX significantly improved progression-free survival (9.7 vs 7.7 months) but surprisingly didn’t improve overall survival, unlike in metastatic disease. Quality of life slightly favored FOLFIRINOX.
