ASCO 2025 | Efficacy of RP1, an engineered oncolytic virus, in the treatment of melanoma

Gino In, MD, MPH, University of Southern California Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Los Angeles, CA discusses the efficacy of engineered oncolytic virus vusolimogene oderparepvec (RP1) in the treatment of melanoma. Compared to talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC), RP1 has shown improved abscopal effects, better responses in a refractory setting and safe injection into visceral legions, indicating that RP1 will likely alter the current therapeutic landscape. This interview took place at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting in Chicago, IL.
