ESTRO 2025 | MITO-RT3/RAD: treating oligometastatic parenchymal lesions in ovarian cancer with SBRT

Maria Antonietta Gambacorta, MD, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan, Italy, comments on the promising results of the Phase II MITO-RT3/RAD trial (NCT04593381), which evaluated the role of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in oligometastatic or oligoprogressive patients with ovarian cancer in treatment with PARP inhibitors. Prof. Gambacorta highlights that the trial demonstrated high local control rates (more than 90%) and prolonged systemic treatment-free intervals, without increased toxicity, making it a valuable approach for managing oligometastatic or oligoprogressive ovarian cancer. This interview took place at the ESTRO 2025 congress in Vienna, Austria.
