WCLC 2026 | Association between BMI and prognosis in NSCLC patients treated with TKIs

Roberto Borea, MD, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, discusses findings from a pilot study investigating the association between body mass index (BMI) and outcomes in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients with a higher BMI treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors were found to have a much better prognosis than those with a lower BMI, which was also found for patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors but with a less significant difference. This interview took place at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer congress in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
