BTOG 2019 | Radiotherapy research in lung cancer: immunotherapy combos, MR imaging, intensification of chemo-RT

Radiotherapy advances in lung cancer are discussed here by Matthew Hatton, MSc, MBChB, MRCP, FRCP, FRCR, of the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK, at the British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) 2019 Annual Conference in Dublin, Ireland. Prof. Hatton highlights the need for further research into the combination of radiotherapy with immunotherapy; mentioning the PACIFIC trial, before discussing the Accelerated, Dose escalated, Sequential Chemo-radiotherapy in NSCLC (ADSCaN; ISRCTN47674500) study, and radiotherapy with resonance imaging, such as the MR Linac.
