BTOG 2020 | Mesothelioma: MARS 2 & MesoTRAP

Robert Rintoul, BSc, MBChB, FRCP, PhD, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge, UK, discusses the MARS 2 study (NCT02040272) which compares surgery (pleurectomy decortication) with no surgery with respect to overall survival, cost-effectiveness and quality of life. Dr Rintoul goes on to outline the MesoTRAP (NCT03412357) study comparing video-assisted thoracoscopic partial pleurectomy/decortication with indwelling pleural catheter in patients with trapped lung due to malignant pleural mesothelioma.
