Mariela Borisova Vasileva-Slaveva, MD, PhD, Alexandrovska University Hospital, Sofia, Bulgaria, discusses the findings of a retrospective analysis investigating the biology and stage at diagnosis of men with breast cancer in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. Data from 318 men with breast cancer was included in the analysis. The study reported that breast cancer in men was diagnosed at a later stage compared to women, with over 80% of patients having regional lymph node metastases at diagnosis. This interview took place at the virtual European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Congress 2021.
