Academic History

Aimilios Lallas, MD, MSc, PhD is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Dermatologist-Venereologist at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr Lallas obtained his MD, MSc, and PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He is the General Secretary of the International Dermoscopy Society and a founding member and Executive Board Member of the Hellenic Dermoscopy Society. Dr Lallas is also an active member of several scientific societies including the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO).

Speaking on the dermoscopy of skin tumors, the application of the method in general dermatology and the improvement of the management of oncologic patients

Dr Lallas is the author of 242 peer-reviewed scientific papers and the editor of 6 internationally published books on skin cancers and dermoscopy. Specifically, his research focusses on developing innovative diagnostic methods in dermatoscopy for the identification of melanoma, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma and inflammatory dermatoses. He is also the co-investigator of 8 Phase III clinical trials on the treatment of metastatic melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and radial hyperkeratosis.
