Academic History
Ali Shamseddine, MD, FRCP, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of the Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary Cancer Program of the Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute at the American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, where he also obtained his medical degree. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London and has founded the Advisory Board of Arab Collaborative Hematology-Oncology Group (ACHOG).
Prof. Shamseddine is an active member of ASCO and ESMO, former chair of European Arab Society of Oncology Prostatic Group in Lebanon, and has published over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Speaking on treatment of gastrointestinal, genitourinary and breast cancer
Prof. Shamseddine’s research interests encompass combination chemotherapeutic approaches in pancreatic, breast, gastrointestinal, and prostate cancer. He also focuses on cancer epidemiology in Lebanon, and is an author, publishing a book detailing cancer trends at the American University of Beirut over two decades.
