Andrea Filippi

Academic History

Andrea Filippi, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Department of Oncology, University of Milan, Milan, Italy, and head of the Radiotherapy Unit at Fondazione IRCCS Nazionale Tumori, Milan, Italy. Dr Filippi received his medical degree from the School of Medicine in Turin, Italy, before serving as a research fellow and assistant professor in Radiation Oncology at the Radiation Oncology Department at the University of Turin.

Dr Filippi has been a member of the Scientific Committee of International Centre for Advanced Computing in Medicine (ICAM) since 2021 and is Associate Editor for Radiation Oncology and Frontiers in Oncology. He is also Principal Investigator for several clinical trials and is author or co-author of over 160 peer-reviewed publications.

Speaking on radiation therapy and optimization for lung cancer

Dr Filippi’s research focuses on the clinical and technical aspects of radiotherapy treatment, including late toxicity risk modeling and stem cell transplantation (SCT), stereotactic radiotherapy for lung tumors (primary and metastases), locally advanced lung cancer, and the association between radiation and immunotherapy.
