Andrew Armstrong, MD, is a Professor of Medicine, Professor in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, and Professor of Urology at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. Prof. Armstrong received his undergraduate from Duke University, his MD from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA and his MSc from John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, PA, followed by his fellowship in the Division of Oncology/Hematology at John Hopkins University.

Speaking on prostate and genitourinary cancer

Prof. Armstrong oversees a clinical and laboratory research team that focuses on precision therapies for the treatment of prostate cancer and other genitourinary cancers. The objective is to enhance patient outcomes, prevent metastasis and gain a better understanding of aggressive prostate cancer.

Prof. Armstrong’s research covers multiple themes, these include the investigation of combination therapies for hormone-refractory prostate cancer and the development of prognostic and predictive models for progression and survival in metastatic prostate cancer.
