Academic History

Dr Antonio Cigliola, MD, is a medical oncologist at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy. He completed his medical and surgical qualifications at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy, in 2017, where he specialized in Medical Oncology. In 2018, he underwent further medical training at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, and is currently undertaking  a PhD in Molecular Medicine. He has authored multiple scientific publications in indexed journals and has presented his research internationally.

Speaks on novel therapeutics in bladder cancer 

Dr Cigiola specializes in the management, diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancers, including bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular and rare tumors. His research is centered around muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) with emphasis on optimizing treatment in the perioperative setting. He is actively involved in clinical trials for all genitourinary cancers, working on the development of targeted therapies.

Beyond clinical trials, Dr Cigiola explored advanced therapeutic solutions that improve patients’ prognostic process and patient quality of life. He is an active member of several scientific societies collaborating on oncological research, including AIMO, ESMO, SIURO, Mett-URO, IBCN, IBCG, and ASCO.
