Axel Merseburger, MD, PhD, is a highly regarded oncologist who currently serves as Professor of Urology and the head of the Department of Urology at University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Lübeck, Germany. He earned his degree in Medicine from Hannover Medical School, Hanover, Germany, and pursued specialized training in surgery and urology at Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, Germany.

Additionally, he completed a research fellowship at the Miller School of Medicine, Miami, FL. Prior to his current appointment, Prof. Merseburger held roles as Associate Professor and later full Professor at Hannover Medical School, and also led the Department of Urology at the University of Lübeck in Germany.
