Elisa Agostinetto
Academic history
Elisa Agostinetto, MD, completed her degree in Medicine at the University of Udine, Italy, and now works as a Medical Research Fellow at Institute Jules Bordet, Brussels, Belgium. Having received specialized training based in Milan, Italy, Dr Agostinetto has a primary interest in breast cancer. Alongside her research fellowship, her dedication to breast oncology is further expressed by the work she conducts as an investigator for the EORTC Breast Cancer Working Group and her valuable position in the Steering Committee for Young Cancer Professionals.
Speaking on clinical research investigating breast cancer
Dr Agostinetto has published over 50 articles in prestigious journals such as JAMA and Lancet Oncology and has presented her research at major conferences including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). She has also received multiple national and international awards for her work.
Additionally, Dr Agostinetto has been actively involved in the AURORA exploratory trial, which aims to understand the molecular characteristics of metastatic breast cancer, and has conducted a study investigating the efficacy of adjuvant paclitaxel and trastuzumab for stage I HER2-positive breast cancer. Dr Agostinetto also continuously explores the impact of treatment decisions in young breast cancer patients and has participated in studies critically assessing the potential of immunotherapies for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
