Academic History

Enrique Grande, MD, PhD, is the Director of the Medical Oncology Program and Clinical Research lead at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He is also founding partner of the Spanish Group of Orphan and Rare Tumors (GETHI) and on the boards of multiple oncology groups, including the Spanish Agency for Medicines (Aemps), and the Spanish Group of Neuroendocrine Tumors (GETNE). Dr Grande was awarded his PhD cum laude in 2013 from the University of Alcalá, Madrid, Spain. His clinical experience spans nearly a decade at Ramon y Cajal University Hospital, Madrid, Spain, where he led Clinical and Translational Research in Medical Oncology.

Speaking on antibody-drug conjugates in urothelial carcinoma

Dr Grande specializes in research on genitourinary and endocrine tumors, playing a key role in the Translational Research and Early Drug Development Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid. He actively participates in clinical trials involving antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for urothelial carcinoma. His research focuses on identifying biomarkers to improve treatment efficacy and minimize toxicity. Key findings from the Phase III EV-302 trial highlight the role of ADCs like enfortumab vedotin, and Dr Grande is also investigating emerging therapies such as sacituzumab govitecan and disitamab vedotin in urothelial cancer management.
