Academic History

Enriqueta Felip, MD, PhD, is the Section Chief at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and the Head of the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology’s Thoracic Tumors Group in Barcelona, Spain. Prof. Felip gained her MD and PhD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain.

Prof. Felip is currently a member of the Scientific Committees of the Spanish Lung Cancer Group and the European Thoracic Oncology Platform. Presently, Dr Felip serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals including Annals of Oncology and the Journal of Thoracic Oncology. Prof. Felip is presently a Full Professor of Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. She has also served as a Professor of Medicine at the Universitat de Vic in Barcelona, Spain, and previously served as the President of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology.

Speaking on lung, head and neck cancer

Prof. Felip is a leading researcher on lung cancer, with a focus on precision medicines, identifying molecular mechanisms of acquired cancer drug resistance, and enhancing immune-based strategies in early-stage and advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

She has investigated the use of immunotherapies such as atezolizumab for the treatment of resected non-small cell lung cancer. She has also investigated the use of novel therapies for the management of patients with thoracic, head and neck malignancies. She works to gain a deeper understanding of intratumoral heterogeneity and its clinical implications.
