Geoffrey Ku, MD, is a distinguished Medical Oncologist serving as an Associate Attending Physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, NY. He completed his degree in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, PA, before going on to finish his residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY. Following this, Dr Ku pursued a Fellowship at MSKCC, where he currently to practices. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology and has received several notable accolades, including being named a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly in both 2023 and 2024.

Speaking on treating gastrointestinal cancers

Dr Ku has a strong focus on gastrointestinal cancers, including esophageal, gastric, colorectal, and pancreatic tumors, though he also has experience treating prostate cancer.

He has been instrumental in a Phase 1b/II study that explored the combination of durvalumab and tremelimumab with PET-adjudicated chemoradiation in esophageal adenocarcinoma patients, aiming to boost treatment outcomes by merging immunotherapy with conventional approaches. Moreover, Dr Ku led a Phase II trial of zanidatamab, which showed an encouraging response rate and lasting effects in patients with first-line HER2-positive gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma. The results of this trial have been showcased at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Annual Congress, underscoring Dr Ku’s dedication to advancing research in gastrointestinal cancer treatment.
