Academic History
Jalid Sehouli, MD, is Professor and Director of the Department of Gynecology at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin, Germany. He received his medical degree at the Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany. Prof. Sehouli was subsequently habilitated at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, and have participated in clinical preceptorships at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, and Central National Cancer Institute of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was also elected President Elect of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) in 2025.
Speaking on gynecological oncology
Prof. Sehouli’s research spans both surgical and systemic therapies, with leadership roles in numerous Phase I–III clinical trials exploring targeted treatments. He is also invested in translational research, clinical pathways, and improving patient outcomes such as quality of life and patient-centered metrics. In addition to his research, he is the founder of the Global Health Working Group of the North-East German Society of Gynecological Oncology (NOGGO), and is President of the Pan-Arabian-Research Society of Gynecologic Oncology (PARSGO).
