Academic History

Jay Lee, MD, is Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, CA, and Surgical Director of the UCLA Thoracic Oncology Program at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. He was previously Surgical Director at the Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health and Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery. Dr Lee received his MD at the UCLA School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his internship and fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, respectively.

Speaking on immunotherapies for lung and thoracic cancers

Dr Lee is key figure in thoracic oncology, leading collaborative translational research efforts aimed at enhancing immunotherapy for lung cancer. His lab focuses on investigator-initiated immunotherapy and modulation of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. He has been in the steering committee for numerous trials, such as the NeoKAN, GEOMETRY-N, and NAUTIKA trials.
