Jean-Yves Pierga

Jean-Yves Pierga, MD, PhD, practices as a Medical Oncologist at the Institut Curie, Paris Cancer Center, Paris, France. He has been a prominent figure in medical oncology since becoming a Professor of Medicine at Paris Descartes University, Paris, France, in 2005.
After earning a Silver Medal from Paris Medical School, Paris, France, Prof. Pierga completed his PhD at Paris University XI, Paris, France, where he investigated the detection and characterization of disseminated tumor cells in breast cancer. Following his fellowship at the Royal Marsden London, London, England, he previously led the Day-Clinic at the Institut Curie and has headed the research program on disseminated and circulating tumor cells since 2010. Prof. Pierga’s contributions to the field are reflected in over 120 peer-reviewed publications, and being an active member of several leading oncology societies, including the Société Française de Cancérologie (SFC), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
