Speaking on precision oncology in colorectal cancer

Prof. Taieb’s research interests include gastroenterology, oncology, medical education, immunology, molecular biology, epidemiology, public health, and genetics. His main research topics are non-metastatic and metastatic colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer. He has led more than 10 Phase III and 20 Phase I/II and has published multiple translational research articles from the findings. He advocates for improved standards of care for colon cancer patients through the identification of biomarkers to guide treatment, in particular, he has highlighted the value of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as a marker for disease recurrence. His analysis of the PRODIGE-GERCOR IDEA-France trial found the ctDNA assessment was an independent prognostic marker.
