Komal Jhaveri, MD, FACP, is an associate attending physician, Head of the Endocrine Therapy Research Program, and clinical director for the Early Drug Development Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, NY. Dr Jhaveri obtained her MD at KJ Somaiya Medical College, Mumbai, India, and FACP from MSKCC. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department Of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY.
Speaking on treatment of breast cancer
Dr Jhaveri is a breast cancer oncologist, and specializes in both treatment and early-phase clinical trials. With an H-index of 49, her recent work includes researching the evolution of antibody-drug conjugates for patients with HER2+, HER2-low and HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer. She investigates biomarkers by utilising imaging techniques and has led the development of numerous novel drugs including PI3K/Akt inhibitors, ERBB2 inhibitors, oral SERDs, and antibody-drug conjugates.
