Meredith McKean
Academic History
Meredith McKean, MD, MPH, is a board-certified medical oncologist and Director of the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Research Program at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Nashville, TN. She earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. She then completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, where she served as chief fellow.
Speaking on clinical trials and drug development in melanoma
Dr McKean specializes in early-phase drug development and translational research in melanoma and other skin cancers. She leads investigational trials aimed at improving outcomes through novel systemic therapies and rational combination strategies. Her contributions to oncology research have been recognized with the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award and the Waun Ki Hong Clinical Investigator Award from MD Anderson. Her ongoing work continues to drive advances in immunotherapy and precision treatment approaches for melanoma and related malignancies.
