Academic History

Paolo Manca, MD, is a Medical Oncologist in the Gastroenterological Oncology Unit at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy. Dr Manca received his medical degree from Campus Bio-medico University of Rome, Rome, Italy. He completed his Oncology Residency at the University of Milan, Milan, Italy and was a visiting researcher at the University of Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland. During his residency, Dr Manca also completed a year as a Research Scholar at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.

Speaking on molecular profiling and ctDNA in gastrointestinal cancers

Dr Manca’s research investigates the molecular profile of gastrointestinal tumors, with a particular focus on colorectal cancer. He is interested in translational research and how molecular diagnostics and liquid biopsies could be integrated into clinical practice to predict response and resistance. In addition, he is a sub-investigator for several clinical trials investigating novel treatment options for localized or metastatic disease.
