Peter Albers, MD, is Professor of Urology and Chairman of the Department of Urology at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Germany. He obtained his MD from the Universities Aachen and Mainz, completed Surgical Training and Urological Residency at Universities Mainz and Bonn, and is currently Division Head of the Personalized Early Detection of Prostate Cancer Division in the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. With an h-index of 47, he has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers, 2 books as Editor in Chief, and is an active member of numerous global cancer organisations including DGU, ASCO, EORTC, DKG, and EAU.
Speaking on treatment of urologic oncology
Prof. Albers specializes in urologic oncology, with his main research ventures including the development of novel screening programs for prostate, which was partly developed in the PROBASE trial. He also has a focus on testicular germ cell tumors, with research elucidating less invasive approaches such as robotic retroperitoneal lymph node dissection.
