Rocio Garcia-Carbonero, MD, PhD is a consultant in Medical Oncology at Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain, where she leads the GI unit and serves as an Associate Professor at Complutense University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain. She has published over 90 papers and book chapters and is a member of numerous scientific societies, including ASCO, ESMO, and ENETS.
Dr Garcia-Carbonero received her MD at Complutense University of Madrin, and specializing in Medical Oncology at Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre. She subsequently completed a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA.

Dr Garcia-Carbonero is a key figure in the field of neuroendocrine tumors. With a clinical focus on novel drug development, she is involved in advancing biomarkers for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. One of her most recent studies was utilising fruquintinib to investigate treatment efficacy in R/R metastatic colorectal cancer.
