Rupert Bartsch, MD, an Associate Professor of Medicine, and the Director of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Program at the Department of Oncology at the Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria. Prof. Bartsch is also the Co-Director of the Brain Metastases Program at the Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria.

Prof. Bartsch completed his medical degree at the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Haematology & Medical Oncology. He is a member of multiple organizations, including the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Study Group (ABCSG), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Austrian Society of Senology, and the Austrian Society of Internal Medicine.

Speaking on breast cancer and management of brain metastases

Prof. Bartsch’s research interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, and the management of brain metastases. He has been involved in several clinical trials evaluating novel agents in breast cancer, particularly in HER2-positive patients. In addition, Prof. Bartsch’s research aims to identify resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies in breast cancer.
