Solange Peters, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chair of Medical Oncology and Thoracic Malignancies in the Department of Oncology at the University Hospital of Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland. She earned both her MD and PhD from the University of Lausanne and is currently building a translational research program in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the Ludwig Institute. With over 500 peer-reviewed publications, she is internationally recognised for her ground-breaking work and has held prominent roles in oncology leadership, including Chair of the European Thoracic Oncology Platform and the youngest-ever President of ESMO.
Speaking on treatment of lung cancer
Prof. Peters is at the forefront of lung cancer research, with her work focusing on biomarker discovery, multi-modality treatment strategies, and immunotherapies. Currently exploring novel immunotherapy combinations against thoracic malignancies, she serves as principal or co-principal investigator on multiple lung cancer trials at the Lausanne Cancer Centre.
