Stephen Lam Chan, MBBS, MRCP, FHKCP, FHKAM, FRCP, MD, is an Ip’s Family Trust Professor of Clinical Oncology and Assistant Dean of Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China. He is additionally an Associate Editor at the Journal of Hepatology and Asia-pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, as well as the chairman on the education committee at The International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA).
Speaking on hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and neuroendocrine cancers
Prof. Chan’s work emphasizes clinical and translational research, including trials of immunotherapy combinations and personalized treatment strategies using biomarkers and organoid models in gastrointestinal cancers. He leads efforts to overcome immunotherapy resistance in liver cancer and to enhance patients’ quality of life through targeted therapies. Prof. Chan is also founding chair of the Hand-in-Hand cancer foundation, a local Hong Kong charity.
