Tanya Dorff, MD, is a Professor of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research and Section Chief of the Genitourinary Disease Program at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, CA. She earned her MD from UCLA School of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude and joining the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Prof. Dorff completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and her hematology-oncology fellowship at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. She served on the faculty at USC Keck School of Medicine before joining City of Hope in 2018 to lead their genitourinary cancers program.

Prof. Dorff specializes in genitourinary malignancies, with a focus on prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, and penile cancers. She leads City of Hope’s collaboration with the Prostate Cancer Foundation to develop PSCA-targeted CAR T-cell therapy for prostate cancer. Her research also explores immunotherapies, PARP inhibitors, radiopharmaceuticals, and ctDNA biomarkers.
She has authored nearly 150 research publications and serves as associate editor for Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases and Seminars in Urologic Oncology. Prof. Dorff co-chairs the SWOG Genitourinary Cancer Committee’s prostate cancer group and contributes to the NCCN Prostate Cancer Guidelines Panel, emphasizing diversity and equity in cancer research. Her clinical trials include first-in-human CAR T-cell therapy studies and immunotherapy investigations, advancing treatment options for genitourinary cancers.
