Academic History
Xiuning Le, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. She earned her MD at the Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China, and her PhD at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Dr Le has additionally completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA, and fellowships at Harvard Medical School.
Dr Le has published over 120 research papers and has received several esteemed awards and grants, including ASCO’s Young Investigator Award, LCRF, CDA, and Damon Runyon awards. She is an active member of numerous oncology societies, including ASCO, ESMO, ELCC, IASLC, ACLC and ESMO Asia.
Speaking on treatment of lung cancer
Dr Le is a pioneer in the treatment of lung cancer, and is internationally renowned for her work on novel targeted therapeutic agents, a number of which have been approved by the FDA. Utilising genomics to gain insight into drug resistance, Dr Le is currently principal investigator of trials investigating EGFR-mutant or MET exon 14 skipping non-small cell lung cancer.
