Yohann Loriot, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at Paris-Saclay University, Paris, France, and medical oncologist at Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France, where he serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Therapeutic Innovation and Early trials. Prof. Loriot obtained his medical degree from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France, and his PhD from Paris-Saclay University.
Prof. Loriot is a member of several organizations including the European Society for Medical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. He is the Chair of the Genitourinary Committee of EORTC and is responsible for the European guidelines for the management of bladder cancers.
Speaking on resistance mechanisms and drug discovery in genitourinary cancer
One of Prof. Loriot’s main research interests is in understanding the mechanisms of treatment resistance in solid tumors. At Institut Gustave Roussy, he coordinates the UNLOCK program which investigates primary and acquired resistance mechanisms to inform therapeutic targets and management options. He is also interested in the development of novel therapeutics, particularly for prostate and urothelial cancers, and leads several Phase I-III clinical trials for new drugs.
